Cultural Fopaux

Like the good little Slovene gift giver that I am I bought two Gerber Daisies for Naja's mom on the day of her baptism. After I gave them to her she sweetly informed me that giving flowers in even numbers, such as two's, symbolizes death. I was basically saying I want her dead. That was not what I was trying to communicate! Dang it!

Well... I've never heard of that... if that helps! Once I bought 2 roses for my mom... and she didn't say anything. Though it's kinda weird to get just 2 flowers. It's not a singular, not eveb plural, but dual... and you know how much dual's weird!;)

Yes i heard off that. You are really not suposed to give even number off flowers... ah life... But i think the thought counts... not the one about death... But flowers. I think it was still really nice of you. But that is just me. Ah culture...
I think the same goes for cookies! 1 or 3 is the rule!! 11 even better!!! Thanks girls!!!

Yup - it's the same here in Lithuania - and we learned the hard way too. ;-) I still wonder sometimes, "Now was it even numbers that are bad or odd numbers?"
